Esprit de corps

credit: internet

  1. Philosopher throw lots of their philosophy in management.
  2. Either it can be applied or not, that's not an issue to those philosopher.
  3. Henri Fayol and Peter Drucker had done that, and so do Elton Mayo.
  4. But in any environment of management, trustworthiness is everything.
  5. Without trust and respect, it won't happen.
  6. Even Veber of Germany will agreed that his documentation system is far less than important to be compared with effects of human elements in organization.
  7. But it quite funny when self-actualization in Maslow Hierarchy of Needs is still applicable nowdays.

Analogy

credit: google image

  1. Analogy is not anal. It's like pedagogy and dodgy, which is not same.
  2. Analogy can be use to stress one concept in a simplest way.
  3. For example; voltage, current and resistance can be confusing.
  4. However, if those definitions been described as plumbing system; it might be easier to be understandable.
  5. Got my point?
  6. Imagine voltage as pressure, current as flow rate, and resistance as pipe size in plumbing system.
  7. As we add more pressure in one tank, flow rate from one tank will be increased.
  8. There goes the same for voltage and current. Increased voltage and current will increased too.
  9. This is just simple analogy to explain that analogy is not anal at all.
  10. Cheers...!!!

Laissez-Faire Leadership

credit: Tony Roma's Facebook pics

  1. Delegative style, when leaders are hands-off and allow his/her subordinates to make the decision.
  2. It will leads to low productivity and of course low morale.
  3. It can be effective in situations where subordinates are highly skilled, motivated and capable of working on their own.
  4. It is not ideal in situations where subordinates lack the knowledge or skills needed to complete tasks.
  5. Its simple, as a leader, person must stand up and behave as one.
